No. 829.—Petition of Thomas Walsh, of Stratford. Petitioner prays for compensation for an accident while in charge of a train. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 18th October, 1904.

No. 924.—Petition of Harry Early. (No. 1.) Petitioner prays for a compassionate allowance on account of alleged injury received while in the employ of the Railway Department. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be postponed till next session at the request of the petitioner. 25th October, 1904.

No. 867.—Petition of Mr. J. M. Brown (for Mrs. Jane Fraser). Petitioner prays for compassionate allowance on account of the death of her husband, who was in the Railway Department as engine-driver. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 25th October, 1904.

No. 893.—Petition of Martha Taylor. Petitioner prays that she may be granted a compassionate allowance on account of her husband being in the Avondale Lunatic Asylum. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 25th October, 1904.

No. 924.—Petition of Harry Earley, of Palmerston South, Otago. (No. 2.) Petitioner prays for a compassionate allowance on account of injury received whilst in the employ of the Railway Department. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommends that the petitioner be allowed the sum of £50 in satisfaction of his claim for compensation. 3rd November, 1904.

No. 926.—Petition of J. J. Cottle and Others. Petitioners pray for more accommodation at the Kopuaranga Station. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 4th November, 1904.

No. 936. —Petition of Donald McKenzie and Others. Petitioners pray for a new public siding on the railway at Birchfield. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 4th November, 1904.
