Alexandra Town Belt Domain. The Town Belt, Town of Alexandra. Area, 160 acres 2 roods 17 perches. Work done during year: Ten sections of 10 acres each near the railway-station were surveyed. It is proposed to offer the sections for lease. The domain is not used by the public. Arrowtown Domain. Section No. 38, Block Vll, Shotover Survey District. Area, 6 acres. Work done during year: Trees planted, and protected by wire netting, part of area ploughed and sown down ,in grass, gates erected, fences repaired, and a bicycle-track made._ Used as a tourist resort, and for football, sports, and picnics. Improvements now on domain: Fences, urinal, shed, and bicycle-track. Balclutha Domain. Reserve No. 5, Town of Balclutha. Area, 1 acre. Improvements now on domain: Fences, bowling-green, sheds, lawn-tennis court. Used for recreation, bowling, and tennis. Bastings Domain. Sections Nos. 1, 2, 48, 49, and 50, Block I, Town of Bastings. Area, 1 acre 1 rood 14 perches. Work done during year: Fences erected and noxious weeds cleared. Improvements now on domain: Ring fences. It is proposed to erect more fences and to clear all noxious weeds during the ensuing year. Berwick Domain. Section No. 10, Block IX, Town of Berwick. Area, 4 acres. Improvements now on domain: Fences, plantation, and embankments. Used for sports and picnics. It is proposed to raise the embankment during the ensuing year. Clinton Domain (Part of). Section No. 1, Block XXVI, Town of Clinton. Area, 18 acres and 36 perches. This portion of Clinton Domain is administered by the Clinton Town Board as a Domain Board. Improvements now on domain: Fences, drains, plantation, and grandstand. Twelve acres is used for pasture, the remainder for sports, picnics, cricket, and football. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Repairing fences and cutting noxious weeds. Clinton Domain (Part of). Section No. 82, Block XI, Pomahaka Survey District. Area, 132 acres. This portion of Clinton Domain is under the control of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin, and is leased for grazing purposes. Clyde Domain. Sections Nos. 38, 39, and 48, Block XI, and Blocks IV, V, VI, VII, LVI, and LVII, Town of Clyde. Area, 63 acres 3 roods 2L5 perches. Work done during year: Five acres fenced and planted. Improvements now on domain: Fences and plantations." Used for tennis, cricket, sports, golf, and general recreation. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Tree-planting, and connecting domain with water-service. Cromwell Domain. Section No. 1, Block XV, Town of Cromwell, and the Cromwell Town Belt. Area, 231 acres. The greater portion of this area has for some years been covered with drift sand; large sums of money have been expended in tree-planting and erecting sand-barriers. Improvements now on domain : Two acres plantation, a mile and a half of sand-barriers, composed of wire and brush fences with live-poplar posts and other trees; also half a mile of other fences. Used for cricket, football, and Volunteer manoeuvres. It is proposed to instal a water-supply when funds are available. Dunedin Domain. Part of Dunedin Town Belt. Area, 52 acres and 6 perches. Work done during year: Flower-beds and shrubbery-borders made, rockwork built and planted paths constructed, trees planted, rustic bridge built across creek, water laid on to nursery, drinking-fountain built, propagating-houses, stables, and cart-sheds erected. A considerable amount of levelling was done on the recreation-ground. Improvements now on domain: Propa-gating-houses, plant-frames, fernery, rockery, tool-shed, potting-shed, summer-house, bandrotunda watchman's house, superintendent's house, fences, aviary, netting fence round ponds, stable and cart-shed. Used for band concerts, picnics, football, cricket, and general recreation; also as botanic gardens. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Erecting new fern-house, repairing paths constructing flower beds and borders, clearing noxious weeds, constructing new entrancegates ana making further additions to rockery. Considerable additions have been made to the collection of trees and plants, and the work of labelling all trees and shrubs with metal labels has been continued. Specimen plants are supplied to the schools, and teachers frequently visit the domain with their pupils for purposes of study. Electric tramcars run from the city to the entrance-gates. 5—C. 10.
