I am directed to inform you that the directors of this society wish to place on record their deep and heartfelt sorrow at the death of the Right Hon. the Premier, Richard John Seddon, in whom the Empire has lost a statesman, the colony its greatest man, and the Scotchmen of New Zealand a firm friend ; and that the deepest sympathy of this society be offered to Mrs. Seddon and the bereaved family in the sad blow that has fallen upon them.
