No.' 658, Session ll.—Petition of G. A. Wilson and 22 Others, of Hunua. Petitioners pray for a grant for a road. I am directed to report that the petitioners evidently refer to the main road running irom Hunua to Papakura, and the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 26th October, 1906.
No. 656, Session ll.—Petition of Helen Staveley, of Wellington. Petitioner prays for a small compassionate allowance. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the Government should make a grant of £50 to the petitioner, on account of her late husband's long and valuable services to the colony in the Volunteer Forces. 26th October, 1906. No. 552, Session ll.—Petition of P. W. Rive and 74 Others, of Georgetown. Petitioners pray for the addition of a money-order office, &c, at Georgetown. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the Government should establish a money-order and postal-note office as prayed for. 26th October, 1906. No. 182, Session ll.—Petition of A. Pennifold, of Wellington. Petitioner prays for a compassionate allowance. Mackenzie, of Wellington. Petitioner prays for the Government to pay a debt, for which petitioner was held responsible, for uniforms in the Wellington Bearer Corps, and for reinstatement in the Volunteer service. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the cost of the uniforms of the Wellington Bearer Corps should be paid by the Government, as promised by both the late and the present Defence Ministers, and that the application of the petitioner for reinstatement in his previous position in the Volunteers should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 26th October, 1906.
