Appeals Nos. 46 and J f 7.—Bj Akuhata te Kaha and others. These two appeals were conducted by Akuhata te Kaha, who claimed that the shares of sixty-five persons in the order be reduced, and that the names of ten other persons be struck out of the order. We are of opinion that the appellant has failed to establish his contentions, and we recommend that these two appeals be dismissed. Appeals Nos. and U- —By Te Anewa Piripi and others, and Matiu te Kurapa and others, claiming the inclusion of seven new names in the order. We recommend that these persons be so included, and have attached a list of their seven names, numbered from 528 to 534, inclusive, to the order with individual shares as shown therein. Appeal No. 4-s.—By Te Whetu and others, claiming that the interests of seven persons—Nos. 213 and 214, and Nos. 218 to 222, inclusive —in the order be increased by a total amount of twenty shares. This has been agreed to by all parties, and we have added the additional shares opposite their names in the order. We recommend that this arrangement be given effent to. The seven persons whose names are hereunder set out are the persons who have been selected from amongst their number by the owners of the land and proposed by them as the members for the Hapu Committee for this block, and agreed to by all the owners present before this Commission sitting at Whakatane on the Bth day of March, 1907 : — 1. Numia te Ruakariata. 5. Te Wakaunua Houpepe. 2. Te Whetu te Paerata. 6. Te Paoro Tangohau. 3. Te Pouwhare te Roau. 7. Hohia te Ahikaiata. 4. Akuhata te Kaha. Gilbert Maib. D. F. G. Barclay. Appeal No. J f 9. —By Tiopira Tamaikoha, claiming that the interests of four persons —Nos. 192, 250, 251, and 252 in the order —be increased by ten shares each in addition to the ten shares each already held by them under the award of last Commission. To this no objection is made, and we have inserted the additional ten shares each asked for opposite the names of the said four persons in the order respectively. ~ We recommend that their interests be so increased, and the order amended accordingly. Appeals Nos. £8 and 50. —By Te Whiu Maraki and others, claiming that the interest of twenty-six persons—Nos. 71 to 76, 100 to 102, 114 to 125, and 180 to 184 in the order—be reduced to the shares shown in the list submitted by appellants to this Commission, which is attached to the file of papers of Otara Block. Under one of these appeals it is further asked that the names and shares of thirteen persons—Nos. 67, 77, 78, and 80 to 89 in the order—be struck out of the block. No objection has been made to these claims before this Commission sitting at Whakatane on the 18th January, 1907, down to date of adjournment of Commission at Te Whaiti on 28th March, 1907 We recommend that this arrangement be given effect to and that the order be amended accordingly: i.e., — The original order contains 253 names, 2,900 shares. 13 persons, owning 100 shares, struck out .. .. . • .. 13 names. 26 persons reduced by 180 shares. 240 ~ 280 „ JBO „ 2,620 „ The interests of 4 owners increased by the amount of 40 new shares between them -_ » rp ota j _ , # ~ .. .. .. 240 names, 2,660 shares.
