To the Adjutant-General, Council of Defence, Wellington, from the Officer Commanding Canterbury Military District, Christchuroh, N.Z. Subject: Canteens. In reply to your 08/1159/1627, I have the honour to report that everything in connection with the canteens allowed here at the Easter manoeuvres worked most satisfactorily. No complaints of any description were received, there was no breach of the privilege, and the behaviour of all ranks was most exemplary. Jno. E.
