Note.—(1.) The amount shown in all cases is the cost of harbour-works and wharves, and does not include the ordinary expenses of administering the harbours, such as salaries of harbour staff and contingencies. (2.) The amounts shown against Westport and Greymouth Harbours do not include the amounts mentioned in section 12 of "The Westport Harbour Board Act, 1884," and section 12 of "The Greymouth Harbour Board Act, 1884," which are repayable out of the special rate on coal.
