INSPECTION OF COAL-MINES REPORT. (THE COAL-MINES ACT, 1908.)

Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by Command of His Excellency

Mr. Frank Reed, M.lnst.M.M., Inspecting Engineer, to the Under-Secretary, Mines Department. Sir,— Mines Department, Wellington, :21th May, 1910. 1 have the honour to present the annual reports of inspection, together with statistical information in regard to the coal-mines of tin' Dominion for the year ended 31s1 December, 1909. The reports are divided into the following sections : — I. Output, of Mineral. 11. Persons employed. 111. Accidents. [V. General Remarks. Annexures— ('/.) Inspectors' Reports. (/).) Mine Officials' Examinations, and List of Certificate-holders. (c.) Statistics of Working-collieries. SECTION I. OUTPUT OF MINERAL.
