The following is a summary of fatal and non-fatal accidents classified, and cause, in this Dominion during 1909.
Willi the introduction this year of the new regulations under the Coal-mines Act, making it com* pulsory that all underviewere and firemen mid deputies (in addition to mine-managers, as heretofore enacted) shall be the holders of certificates of competency or service, it may he hoped that greater safety "ill be obtained in our coal-mines.
