AsriBUHTON Domain. Area, 90 acres, situated in the Town of Ashburton. Work done during year : Pines cut down and sold for firewood, silt removed from lake and carted to form tennis-courts, swimming-baths improved, lodge buildings and gates painted, and general maintenance. A new ground for football and cricket is in course of preparation. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Further planting. Bohke's Pass Domain. Reserve No. 1595, Block VIII, Burke Survey District. Area, 45 acres and 3 perches. Work done during year : An area fenced and planted with trees, grass sown, and fences repaired. Improvements now on domain : Fences, trees, and grassing. Used for picnics and general recreation; poition used for grazing. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Grubbing scrub and clearing noxious weeds. Cahleton Domain. Reserves Nos. 2808 and 2858, Block V, Mairaki Survey District. Area, 13 acres 3 roods. Work done during year: Convenience erected. Improvements now on domain : Fences, hedges, trees, building, and concrete cricket-pitch. Used for sports, cricket, picnics, and general recreation. Cashmeue Hills Domain. Reserve No. 161, Halswell Survey District. Area, 188 acres 3 roods 11 perches. Work done during year: Wash-house, stable, and trap-shed built, and trees planted to replace those burnt. Improvements now on domain : Cottage, stable and trap-shed, cowshed, Victorin Memorial Pavilion, Rolleston Memorial, fences, misery, and plantations. \he<\ for picnics nnd general recreation. The domain has been ploughed twice, cultivated, and stones removed. It is proposed to sow oats with grass during the ensuing year. Chbhtset Domain. Reserves Nos. 237G, Ashburton Survey District, and 3*057, Town of Chertsey. Area, 32 acres 2 roods 27 perches. Work done during j-ear : Two tennis-courts formed, and general maintenance. Improvements now on domain: Fences, plantation, water-race, dressing-room, trotting and cycling tracks, two tennis-courts, and avenue. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Removing goise hedge and substituting a wire fence. CHiirsTCHCJKCii Domain. Parts of Reserves Nos. 24 and 25, Block XI, Christen urch Survey District. Area, 495 acres. During the year six large tanks have been elected and the water-supply extended, new glasshouse erected, new lake formed with the assistance of unemployed-relief labour, gardens extended, new paths made, others altered and extended, and conveniences erected. The Hoard is arranging to hold a fete for the purpose of raising funds to improve the gardens. Improvements now on domain: Fencing, gardens, gates, avenues of trees for walks and carriage-drives; magnetic observatory, museum, head gardener's liiui.se, cottage for ranger and garden caretaker, footballshed, three hothouses, spade-house, three large and several small bridges, lawns, walks, artesian wells three lakes, nursery, and plantations. Used for acclimatisation purposes, and for polo, golf,' cricket, bowls, tennis, croquet, football, hockey, model yachting, military encampments and reviews, picnics, and general recreation.
