Ordered, "That a Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to examine and report upon questions relating to the railways; with power to call for persons and papers; three to be a quorum: the Committee to consist of Mr. Arnold, Mr. Brown, Mr. Buick, Mr. Craigie, Mr. Hine, Mr. Hogan, Mr. Rhodes, Mr. Ross Mr Witty and the mover."—(Hon. No. 347.—Petition of Foxton Harbour .Board. Petitioners pray for financial assistance to enable them to properly deal with the Manawatu River, and improve it for navigation. I am directed to report that, as there is a willingness on the part of the Railway Department to sell, and on the part of the Foxton Harbour Board to purchase, the wharf at Foxton, this petition be referred to the Government with a view to arriving at a settlement of the price of the wharf and goodwill by arbitration 3rd November, 19io!
