25. Would you give £30,000 for the whole countryside?— That depends on the area of the country. For the purpose of putting settlers on it for agricultural purposes I should not like to put a value per acre on it at all. 26. What would you think of this : "By means of the Land Act of last session the State is parting with land estimated to be worth £30,000, and it is not going to receive in return more than about £3,000"? What would you think of a statement like that? —I should think it was considerably wide of the mark.
