Shops and Offices Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the Shops and Offices Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the sunu , . and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with amendments as shown on copy of Bill attached hereto. (For evidence vide 1.—9 a.) 24th October, 1913.

No. 112. —Petition of H. M. Smeeton, of Auckland, and 91 Others. Praying that the Shops and Offices Bill be so amended as to bring Road Boards under the operation of the 17th clause, and that all exemptions shall be removed, including hotel bars. I am directed to report that, as the subject-matter of this petition has already been dealt with under the Shops and Offices Bill, the Committee lias no recommendation to make. 24th October, 1913.

No. 134.—Petition of John Livessey, of Devonport, and 1,147 Others. Praying that the Shops and Offices Act be so amended as to grant exemption to Devonport from compulsory Saturday closing. 1 am directed to report that, as the subject-matter of this petition has already been dealt with under the Shops and Offices Bill, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 24th October, 1913.

Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with amendments as shown on copy of the Bill attached hereto. 11th November, 1913.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to which was referred the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully consider <l the same, and recommends that Part VI and sections 154, 158, and 165 of Part VII only be proceeded with, and that the Minister bring down ? new Bill containing these parts amended as shown on the attached draft Bill. (For evidence vide 1.-9b.) 3rd December, 1913.

No. 112.—Petition of H. M. Smeeton and 91 Others (Second Report). PraYIXG that the Shops and Offices Act be so amended as to bring Road Boards under the operation of the 17th clause, and that all exemptions shall be removed, including hotel bars ; and, further, that the Saturday half-holiday may be made compulsory throughout the Dominion. I mi directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on the abovementioned petition. 9th December, 1913.
