NEW ZEALAND STATE-GUARANTEED ADVANCES OFFICE: RETURNS RELATIVE TO APPLICATIONS FOR LOANS REFUSED, AND AMOUNTS PAID TO SOLICITORS FOR PREPARING DEEDS.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 29th August, 1912. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return for the financial years 1908-9, 1909-10, 1910-11, and 1911-12, showing—(l) The number of applicants for loans under the Government Advances to Settlers Act whose applications were refused ; (2) the amount of the application fees received by the Department from unsuccessful applicants ; (3) the amount of fees that have been returned lo unsuccessful applicants ; and (4) the amount paid to solicitors in each province, separately, for preparing deeds, &c, for applicants." —(Mr. Witty.)
