NEW ZEALAND STATE-GUARANTEED ADVANCES OFFICE: RETURN RELATIVE TO APPLICATIONS FOR LOANS AND LOANS GRANTED.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 9th July, 1913. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The number of applicants for loans under the Advances to Settlers Act from Ist July, 1912, to 30th June, 1913, and the total amount asked for; (2) the number to whom loans were granted for the same period, and the total amount granted; (3) the total number and the amount asked for under the Advances to Workers Act from 30th June, 1912, to Ist July, 1913 ; (4) the toial number and the amount granted for the above period ; and (5) the number who have obtained not less than £400 each under the Advances to Workers Act for the above period."—(Mr. Witty.)
Return. 1. The number of applicants for loans under the Advances to Settlers Act from Ist July, 1912, to 30th June, 1913, and the total amount asked for :— Number : 3,055. Amount:. £1,041,505. 2. The number to whom loans were authorized for the same period, and the total amount authorized:— Number : 2,022. Amount: £696,440. 3. The total number and the amount asked for under the Advances to Workers Act from 30th June, 1912, to Ist July, 1913 :— Number: 1,549. Amount: £524,005. 4. The total number and the amount authorized for the above period : — Number: 1,112. Amount: £336,340. 5.
