NO. 180 (1913). Petition of Hapareta R. Piikekoiiatu and 14 Others, of Wairau. Praying for legislation to enable rates to be levied upon their lands in order to provide a fund to complete a protective bank to prevent the flooding of their lands at Wairau, Marlborough. I am directed to report that, as the matter has been satisfactorily dealt witli since the presentation of the petition, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 22nd July, 1911.

Praying for refund of stamp duty paid on declarations of trust which were subsequently not confirmed. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee these petitions should be referred to the Government for consideration. 23rd July, 191 I
