EDUCATION BOARDS' EXPENDITURE (RETURN RELATIVE TO) FOR THE YEAR 1916.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 19th July, 1917.

Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing for the past year the amount paid to each Education Board for administrative expenses, and the purposes, with the amountf, for which the moneys were expended."—(Mr. Young.)

Return No. 1.—Education Boards' General Account for Year 1916.

It must be pointed out, however, that the expenditure in the case of the Canterbury Board includes the expenditure of the four Boards now constituting the new Canterbury District for seven months of the year, as well as the expenditure of the Board of the combined district for five months.
