MAORI WAR PENSIONERS (RETURN RELATIVE TO).
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 11th September, 1917. Ordered, "That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The total number of persons in receipt of the Maori War pension; (2) the number of Maori War pensioners who would otherwise be eligible for the old-age pension; and (3) the number of Mnori War pensioners who, owing to income disqualifications, are ineligible for the old-age pension."—(Mr. Habbis.)
Return. (1.) The total number of persons in receipt of the Maori War pension : 1,192. (2.) The number of Maori War pensioners who would otherwise be eligible for old-age pension: 315. (3.) The number of Maori War pensioners who, owing to income disqualifications, are ineligible for the old-age pension : 877.
