Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting on Thursday, the 4th day of November. During the session the Committee met on 52 occasions, with an average attendance of 9. Including 97 petitions brought forward from last session the Committee had before it 234 petitions. Of these petitions 157 were considered and reported upon, and the remaining 77 are held over until next session. With regard to 52 petitions the Committee recommended that they be referred to the Government as follows : 14 for favourable consideration, 23 for inquiry, 6 for departmental inquiry, and 9 for consideration. With regard to 6 petitions the Committee recommended that they be referred to various Ministers of the Crown. With regard to 2 petitions the Committee recommended that they be referred to other Committees. Upon 8.1 petitions the Committee had no recommendation to make, and 16 petitions were withdrawn. The Native Trustee Bill, the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill and the Native Land Amendment Bill were referred to the Committee, and were duly considered and reported upon. Thirteen parliamentary papers were referred to this Committee, and. were duly considered and reported upon. The total number of reports presented to the House, was 174. sth November, 1.920.
