ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 14th Day of July, 1920. Ordered, " That Standing Order No. 219 be suspended, and that a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of eleven members, to deal with all matters in connection with defence ; with power to call for persons, papers, and records ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Glenn, Mr. Kellett, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. E. Newman, Hon. Dr. Pomare, Mr. Potter, Hon. Sir R. H. Rhodes, Mr. Seddon, Mr. R. W. Smith, Mr. Stewart, and the mover."— (Hon. Mr. Coates.) Wednesday, the 6th Day of October, 1920. Ordered, " That the report of the Defence Committee on the petition of the Home Service League (Incorporated) be referred back to the Defence Committee for further consideration." —(Mr. WRIGHT.) Thursday, the 7th Day of October, 1920. Ordered, " That the names of Mr. J. S. Dickson, Mr. S. G. Smith, and Mr. Masters be added to tho Defence Committee ; and the Committee to have power to confer with any Committee appointed for a similar purpose by the Legislative Council." —(Hon. Sir R. H. Rhodes.)
