My Lord, — With reference to Your Lordship's despatch of the sth September, I have the honour to transmit herewith a copy of a minute from my Ministers asking that an expression of the heartfelt thanks of the Government of the Union of South Africa may be conveyed to the New Zealand House of Eepresentatives for their resolution of sympathy at the death of General the Right Honourable Louis Botha. Enclosure. Minute No. 1625. Prime Minister's Office, Pretoria, 12th November, 1919. Ministers have the honour to acknowledge receipt of His Excellency the Governor-General's minute, No. 3/2667, of 11th instant, transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor-General of New Zealand, which embodied a resolution passed by the House of Representatives of New Zealand expressing deep sympathy at the death of General the Right Honourable Louis Botha. Ministers would be glad if His Excellency would kindly request the Governor-General of New Zealand to convey to the House of Representatives the heartfelt thanks of the Union Government for their kind resolution of sympathy.
