NATIVE LAND AMENDMENT AND NATIVE LAND CLAIMS ADJUSTMENT ACT, 1919. REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION No. 439/1917, OF RANIERA TUHORO, RELATIVE TO THE SUCCESSION TO RANIERA KAWHIA (DECEASED) IN NGAMOE AND OTHER BLOCKS.

Native Department, Wellington, 9th July, 1923. Re Petition 439/1917 — Succession to Raniera Kawhia (deceased). Enclosed herewith I forward the Court's report under section 34 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1919. As it is reported the petitioner does not desire the matter dealt with, I recommend no further action be taken. The Hon. Native Minister, Wellington. R. N. Jones, Chief Judge. In the Native Land Court of New Zealand, Tairawhiti District.—ln the matter of the petition No. 439/17, of Raniera Tuhoro, praying for a rehearing of succession to Raniera Kawhia, (deceased) in Ngamoe and other blocks, referred to the Court under the provisions of section 34 of the above-mentioned Act. At a sitting of the Court held at Tikitiki on the 6th day of June, 1923, the Court made inquiry into the above matter, and reports as follows : — 1. Upon the matter being called on the representatives of the petitioner stated to the Court that the petitioner did not now desire to proceed further with the petition. 2. The Court accordingly recommends that no further action be taken in the matter. For the Court. H. Carr, Commissioner. To the Chief Judge, Native Land Court, Wellington.
