Petitioners pray for repeal of section 38 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1924, and that all proceedings in connection with the Tarawera and Tatarakina Blocks may be for ever stayed. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government with a recommendation that legislation be passed giving petitioners right of appeal. 23rd August, 1926. Petitioner alleges that through the wrongful act of a solicitor she has been prevented from completing her title to a block of land known as Akura Bc, Sub. 1. She prays that the Native Land Court may be enabled to make an order vesting the land in her. I am directed to report that the Committee is- of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 23rd August, 1926.
