Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting to-day (Bth September). During the session the Committee held sixteen meetings, the average attendance of members at each meeting being eight. Including forty-two petitions brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it seventy petitions : of these fifty-two were dealt with and reported upon ; the remaining eighteen are unavoidably held over. The following Bills were considered and reported on, viz. : The Native Trustee Amendment; the Maori Arts and Crafts ; and the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment. Parliamentary Papers Nos. 126, 130, 131, 201, 202, and 203 were also considered and reported upon. The total number of reports presented to the House was fifty-six. Bth September, 1926.
