I have the honour to report that the Industries and Commerce Committee wishes to place on record its high appreciation of the ability, and courtesy with which the Chairman, Mr. Harris, has presided over the business of the Committee during the session. It also desires that this resolution be recorded on the minutes of the Committee and be reported to the House. T. K. Sidey, 7th September, 1926. A Member of the Committee. Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Industries and Commerce Committee, consisting of ten members, has held twelve meetings with an average attendance of seven.' Three matters of importance were referred to it by the Minister, and after hearing representative evidence the Committee duly made its recommendation to him. The Committee also dealt with 122 petitions, of which 118, with 6,751 signatures, related to the sawmilling industry. These latter were referred to the Government for favourable consideration. The remainder were referred for consideration. 7th September, 1926.
