No. 232.—Petition of Elizabeth Hunter, of Petone. Praying for a compassionate allowance on account of her husband's service in the Defence Forces. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. sth October, 1927.

No. 238. —Petition of Janne Lury, of Auckland. Praying for a retrospective war pension not claimed at time of her son's death. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make in regard to this petition. 6th October, 1927.

No. 132.—Petition of J. Shortal, of Invercargill. Praying for inquiry into alleged wrongful discharge from duty with the New Zealand Military Forces. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th October, 1927.

No. 263. —Petition of A. R. D. Box, of Port Chalmers. Praying for redress and compensation on account of alleged wrongful detention in a mental hospital. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th October, 1927.

No. 268.—Petition of A. L. McAllum, of New Plymouth. Praying that provision be made for him to receive a pension or allowance owing to ill health occasioned by war service. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th October, 1927.

No. 230.—Petition of A. T. McNeilage, of Pahiatua. Praying for the same treatment as a returned soldier in regard to the supplying of artificial limbs. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to the prayer of this petition, but suggests for the consideration of the Government the supply of a new artificial limb to the petitioner. 28th October, 1927.

No. 288.—Petition of R. B. Brickell, of War Veterans' Home, Auckland. Praying for a compassionate allowance on account of service in the Maori War. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 28th October, 1927.

No. 296. —Petition of N. B. Fryday, of Ngaere. Praying that certain words be inscribed on the tombstone of his son, E. J. Fryday, a member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 28th October, 1927.
