Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters pertaining to agricultural and pastoral industries and stock ; with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee which may be appointed by the Legislative Council, and to agree to a joint or separate report; the Committee to have power to call for persons, papers, and records ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Burnett, Mr. Dickie, Sir George Hunter, Mr. Kyle, Mr. H. O. R. Mason, the Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, Mr. Ransom, Mr. Reid, Mr. Sullivan, and the mover."'—(Hon. Mr. Hawken.) Thursday, the 26th Day of July, 1928. Ordered, " That the Rabbit Nuisance Bill be referred to the Agricultural and Pastoral Industries and Stock Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Hawken.)
REPORTS. Rabbit Nuisance Bill. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 17th August, 1928.
No. 213. —Petition of John Douglas Ritchie, of Wellington, and Another. Praying for the setting-up of a Committee to investigate, with a view to acquiring, a new system of earmarking live-stock. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 4th October, 1928.
