The position of the orders in respect of registration is shown by the following summary as at the beginning and end of 1928 : —

A complete list of societies and branches on the register as at the end of 1928 is given in Appendix I. Ruler. The rules of forty-eight societies and branches were amended during 1928. Complete Amendments of Rules registered. Complete amendments for the following were registered during the year, viz. : — M.U.1.0.0.F. —City of Norwich Lodge (Lyttelton District), Cromwell Lodge, Oamaru Lodge, and Valley Lodge (Otago District), and Winton Lodge (Southland District). A.O.F.—Auckland District. Partial Amendments of Rules registered. Partial amendments for the following were registered during the year, viz. :— M.U.1.0.0.F. —New Zealand Branch (2) ; Hawke's Bay District; Taranaki District (2) ; Perseverance Lodge (Lyttelton District) ; South Canterbury District; Shamrock, Rose, and Thistle Lodge, and United Gore Lodge (Southland District). 1.0.0.F. —Grand Lodge of New Zealand. N.1.0.0.F. —Auckland Provincial District. A.O.F. —Wellington District; Canterbury United District; South Canterbury District; Court Foresters' Pride (South Canterbury District) ; United Otago District; Court City of Auckland (2) (Court out of district) ; and Court Pride of Parnell (Court out of district). U.A.O.D. —Grand Lodge of Canterbury, New Zealand; and Grand Lodge of Otago and Southland, New Zealand. 1.0.R. —New Zealand Central District.— P.A.F.S.A. —Grand Council of New Zealand. G.U.0.0.F. —The Grand United Order of Oddfellows, Friendly Society of New Zealand. I.F.S. —Stockton Colliery Medical and Accident Relief Association ; The Palmerston North United Friendly Societies' Dispensary; The Fountain of Friendship Lodge, Friendly Society (2) ; The Wellington United Friendly Societies' Medical Institute (2) ; The Waiuta Miners' Medical Association (2) ; and Okaihau Railway Construction Workers Medical Association. W.M.C. —Auckland Working-men's Club and Mechanics' Institute; Petone Working-men's Club and Literary Institute (2) ; and Cosmopolitan Club. 1.0.G.T. —Grand Lodge of New Zealand of the International Order of Good Templars. S.A.S. —Sydenham and Suburban Co-operative Money Club ; The Dunedin United Friendly Societies' Dispensary ; Timaru United Friendly Societies' Dispensary ; and Wellington United Friendly Societies' Dispensary. Annual Returns of Receipts and Expenditure, etc. The Friendly Societies Act requires these returns to reach me on or before the 31st March in each year.
