ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Friday, the 2nd Day of August, 1929. Ordered, " That Standing Order No. 219 be suspended, and that a Native Affairs Committee be appointed, consisting of sixteen members, to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be brought before the House this session, and from time to time to report thereon to the House ; with power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Broadfoot, Mr. Clinkard, the Right Hon. Mr. Coates, Mr. Healy, Mr. Henare, Mr. Howard, Mr. Makitanara, Mr. McDougall, Mr. Martin, Mr. O'Brien, the Hon. Sir Maui Pomare, Mr. Rushworth, Mr. Smith, Mr. Waite, Mr. Williams, and the mover." —(Hon. Sir Apieana Ngata.) Thursday, the 15th Day of August, 1929. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1928 be again referred to the same Committees that they were referred to during the said session." —(Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward.) Tuesday, the 3rd Day of September, 1929. Ordered, " That Papers Nos. 138 (Native Trust Office, Accounts of the, for the Year ended 31st March, 1929 —G.-2) and 139 (Native Land Courts and other Matters under Control of Native Department: Report of Under-Secretary for the Year ended 31st March, 1929 —G.-9) be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Hon. Sir Apieana Ngata.) Fbiday, the 13th Day of Septembeb, 1929. Ordered, " That Paper No. 101 (Waikato-Maniapoto Native Land Court District, Report of Royal Commission to inquire into Matter relating to Leases of Native Lands in—G.-17) be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." — (Hon. Sir Apieana Ngata.) Friday, the 20tii Day of Septembeb, 1929. Ordered, " That Paper No. 177 (Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927 : Report and Recommendation on Petition of Te Paea Paro (Sophia Barlow) relative to Succession to Matire Tohe (deceased) in Allotment 3 Mangere, and other Lands) be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon.
