No. 311. —Petition of Lawrence L. Gibbs, of Wakefield. Praying for a compassionate allowance in lieu of retrospective pension. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 7th November, 1929.
Special Report. I am directed to report that the Defence Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the work done during the session by the Clerk to the Committee, Mr. W. Rea, and directs that a resolution to this effect be placed upon the minutes of the Committee and be reported to the House. sth November, 1929.
Special Report. I am directed to report that the Defence Committee desires to place on record its hearty appreciation of the services of its Chairman, Colonel McDonald, and has directed that a resolution to this effect be placed upon the minutes of the Committee and be reported to the House. Final Report. I have the honour to report that during the present session the Defence Committee, consisting of ten members, has held nine meetings, the average attendance of members at each meeting being seven. The business referred to the Committee consisted of twelve petitions, all of which were considered and reported on. T. W. McDonald, Chairman. 7th November, 1929.
