No. 40. —Petition of Esme M. Barnsley, of Petone. Praying that she be granted a pension on account of her late husband's war service. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, but, as the petitioner will now become eligible for a pension under the legislation now before Parliament, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 22nd October, 1935.
No. 53.—Petition of P. F. Toomey, of Auckland. Praying for the restoration of war pension. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration; the Committee recommend that, as the petitioner is suffering from obsessional neurosis, it is clearly a case for the war veteran's allowance. 22nd October, 1935.
No. 9 and No. 39.—Petition of Emily C. Wright, of Dunedin. Praying for a compassionate allowance in consideration of her late war service. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 25th October, 1935.
No. 43.—Petition of R. Dobson, of Waipukurau. Praying that he be granted a war pension. I have the honour to report that, as the petitioner comes within the scope of the War Veterans' Allowances Bill, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 25th October, 1935.
No. 46.—Petition of E. Nearey, of New Plymouth. Praying for the restoration of a war pension. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommend that the petitioner be medically re-examined, and, with this end in view, are of the opinion that the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 25th October, 1935.
