No. 172.—Petition of Bameka te Awe and 13 Others, of Wairoa. Praying that their moneys from the Tahora 2e and 2c Blocks be not devoted to assist in the cost oi the carved meeting-house now being erected to the memory of the late Sir James Carroll. 1 am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration with a view to action being taken to exclude the portion of the petitioners, and other dissentients, from the contribution by the East Coast Commissioner. 31st October, 1936.
