At Rotorua the work of changing the borough electrical system from a 110 volt to a 230 volt system was proceeded with, and satisfactory progress made. During the year a number of vapour streetlighting fittings were erected in the business area of the town, and a considerable improvement has been made to the standard of lighting, the high illumination from the new system being very favourably commented on by visitors to Rotorua. Flood-lighting in the gardens and Neon colouring of the geysers are being proceeded with. Improvements and additions were made to the water and drainage systems in the town, and a considerable amount of maintenance-work to the departmental buildings was done. Financial.
