Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting, by leave, of seventeen members, to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be referred to it, and from time to time to report thereon to this House : the Committee to consist of Mr. Broadfoot, Mr. C. H. Burnett, Mr. Christie, the Right Hon. Mr. Coates, Mr. Cullen, Mr. Henare, the Hon. Mr. Langstone, Mr. Lowry, Mr. Moncur, the Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Ratana, Captain Rushworth, Mr. Smith, Mr. Thorn, Mr. Tirikatene, and the Mover."—(Right Hon. Mr. Savage.) Thursday, the 30th Day of September, 1937. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1936 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session." —(Right Hon. Mr. Savage.) Ordered, " That the Native Purposes Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Langstone.) Monday, the 14th Day oe March, 1938. " Pursuant to section 13 of the Native Purposes Act, 1936, Paper No. 102 (Report and recommendation on Petition No. 224 of 1936, of Tupito Maruera and others, relative to a certain devise under the will of Waewae Tutange, deceased) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee."
