AGREEMENT No. 2. Whereas by a Petition Number: 33/1937 signed by Ata Paniora and Toa Mihi Paati and addressed to the Honourable Members of tie House of Representatives in tie Dominion of New Zealand in Parliament assembled tie Petitioners claimed relief in respect of tie matters set out in Paragrapis 1 to 5 tiereof (inclusive) relating to Waipoua 2b 3b 1 block containing 317 acres on beialf of the persons named in tie said paragrapis And wicreas tie iearing of tie said Petition was referred to His Honour Judge Acieson a Judge of tic Native Land Court for consideration and renort And wiercas tic said matters came on for iearing before His Honour at Kaiiu on tie 6th and 7ti days of July 1939 and during tie course tiereof tie various parties iereto conferred as to tie saM matters generally with, a view to effecting a settlement tiereof And wiereas on intimation to His Honour by tie said parties tiat they tad conferred as aforesaid tic Native Land Court adjourned the iearing to enable the said parties to reaci an agreement in settlement of tie said matters And whereas the said parties have further conferred herein and have agreed in final settlement of the said matters as follows :— 1. All that area of Waipoua 2b 3b 1 containing 152 acres approximately lying to the North West of the Waipoua River, together witi an area of 14 acres 2 roods approximately being tie Northern portion of tie area lying to tic Souti East of tie Waipoua River and cut off from tic balance of the block by a lino bearing 148° 00' for a distance of 1829-4 links approximately as tie same are siown coloured witi a pink margin on tie plan attacied iereto, is to vest in tie Crown free and clear from any Native claim wiatsoever. . 2. All tiat area of Waipoua 2b 3b 1 lying to tie Souti East of tic Waipoua River comprising 139 acres 2 roods approximately being the balance of the block and shown on the said plan coloured with a yellow margin, is to vest in Pororua Harawira, Merc Yakas, Wiremu Yakas, Rihi Yakas and Atareta Yakas (as successors to Te Riwhi Yakas deceased) and Te Atarangi Wiki and Te Raukura Paniora (as successors to Te Hunga Kakawiki deceased) tie said Riii Yakas, Atareta Yakas and Te Raukura Paniora being minors at tie date iereof. 3. Tie said Pororua Harawira, Mere Yakas, Wiremu Yakas, Riii Yakas, Atareta Yakas, Te Atarangi Wiki and Te Raukura Paniora as successors to Te Riwhi Yakas and Te Hunga Kakawiki respectively referred to in Paragrapis 1 to 5 (inclusive) of tie said Petition icreby admit acknowledge and agree that they after full independent consultation with their advisers are satisfied with tie final settlement of tie said matters as evidenced by these presents and that such settlement is in full satisfaction of all grievances (if any) of tie matters set out in Paragraph 1 to 5 (inclusive) of the said Petition and do further agree on completion of suci settlement to witidraw those parts of tie said Petition set out in Paragrapi 1 to 5 tiereof (inclusive) and to proceed no furtier witi tiem.
