Administration. No new fire districts were created during the year, but in view of the Government's decision not to proceed with the proposed amending legislation during the war period the Minister has agreed to permit the formation of several additional fire districts which will be constituted during the coming year. Routine reports have been made regarding protection of Government buildings, and on water-supply and fire-equipment loans for the Local Government Loans Board ; a considerable number of inspections of military camps and Air Force stations have also been made. Attached are statistical tables covering the year under review. I have, &c., R. Girling-Butchee, Inspector of Fire Brigades.
