(а) Allowance payable to Assistant Director-General during the absence of the Director-General overseas. (б) Additions to staff and the release of officers from camp were essential to meet Services' vegetable-production calls arising from production expansion programme. (c) £750 provided on the main estimates. Increased provision required to cover overtime relating to Services' vegetableproduction. (d) Additions to staff required for war condition purposes of the meat industry and of main centre milk-supply.
