Sir, — I have the honour to present the annual report on the Mental Hospitals for the year ending 31st December, 1942. As there is a continued wartime need to abbreviate reports, I have presented only those statistical tables which are necessary to maintain continuity of departmental records. I thank all those officers who are so loyally serving the Department under the present most difficult conditions. T. G. Gray, Director-General.
