(a) £230,435 provided on main estimates. Additional appointments of office staff, field staff, and farm-managers due to increased work in connection with settlement of ex-servicemen on tho land and administration of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943. (A) £40,000 provided on main estimates. On account of increase in applications, provision is made for additional expenses and valuations. Also some expenditure incurred in 1943-44 not brought to charge until 1944-45 financial year. (c) No provision made on main estimates for such expenditure. (d) Total cost, £345. Hokianga County Council contributing £75. (e) £11,200 provided on main estimates. Provision made for increased maintenance work necessary following recent heavy floods. 3
