(a) To cover late claims of previous year. £B,OOO provided on main estimates. (b) Boards' claims greater than anticipated. Expenditure to 30th September, 1947, £490. £250 provided on main estimates. (c) Provides for normal expansion over 1946, £12,850 ; and additional grants, £4,920. Total increase for School Committee incidentals amounts to £33,470. The balance, £15,700, covering wages increase, £7,400, and additional cost of materials, &c., £8,300, is included in the item " Payment of increased costs for wages, materials, &c., £22,750." (d) Arrears arising out of new salary scale and hot included in £146,000 provided on main estimates. (e) Proportionate increase based on salaries. £41,800 provided on main estimates.
