(a) Arrears due to reassessment of service of ex-servicemen students under new salary regulations £26,000, additional 250 students for two months at £lBO per annum, £7,500. £304,00 provided on main estimates. (b) Incidental expenses, £3OO ; increased fares, refresher classes, and conferences, £650. (c) To enable prospective post-primary teachers to undertake four years' University course commencing 1948. (d) To provide salaries of prospective commercial teachers during course of instruction (one year). (e) Extra provision required to cover expenses of private-school teachers attending refresher courses. £4,000 provided on main estimates.
