Laid on the Table of the House of Representatives ORDERS OF REFERENCE Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 16th Day of July, 1947 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of nine members, to consider all matters relating to school-teachers, education, and public instruction generally, training of publicschool teachers, higher education, technical education, manual instruction, and such other matters affecting education as may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Algie, Mr. Bodkin, the Rev. Mr. Carr, Mr. McCombs, Mr. Oram, Mr. Petrie, Mr. Rae, Mr. Wilson, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Friday, the 11th Day of July, 1947 Ordered, " That the Victoria University College Amendment Bill be referred to the Education Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Thursday, the 11th Day op September, 1947 Ordered, " That the Auckland University College Amendment Bill be referred to the Education Committee." —(Right Hon. Mr. Fraser, for the Hon. Mr. Mason.) Wednesday, the 29th Day of October, 1947 Ordered, " That the Adult Education Bill be referred to the Education Committee."—(Hon. Mr. McCombs.) Thursday, the 13th Day op November, 1947 Ordered, " That the Education Amendment Bill be referred to the Education Committee."— <Hon. Mr. McCombs.) REPORTS Victoria University College Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Education Committee has carefully considered the Victoria University College Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 22nd July, 1947. No. 106. —Petition of C. L. Bailey and Others, of Wellington Praying for inquiry into the suspension of the series of educational broadcasts, " How Things Began." I have the honour to report that the Education Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 30th October, 1947.
