LEGISLATION The Coal-mines Amendment Act, 1947, contains provisions concerning the exchange of coal-prospecting licences for coal leases, the right to compensation for injury or death, and the rate of payment of contributions to the Coal-miners' Relief Fund. The Mining Amendment Act, 1947, amended the provisions for granting amalgamated claims, and contains a section regarding damages for injury or death similar to the Coal-mines Amendment Act, 1947.
