REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION OF THE MAORI LAND COURT ON PETITION No. 19 OF 1947, OF NELLIE HAUA, CONCERNING THE WILL OF MAEA RAKAPURUA, DECEASED
Presented to Parliament in Pursuance of the Provisions of Section 55 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1947
In the Maori Land Court of New Zealand (Waiariki District).—ln the matter of section 55 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1947 ; and in the matter of petition No. 19 of 1947, of Nellie Haua, concerning the will of Maea Rakapurua, deceased. Upon the report and recommendation of the Maori Land Court, I, Ernest Mansfield Beechey, Deputy Chief Judge of the said Court, hereby recommend that legislation be enacted to enable the Maori Land Court to prove the will of the above-named Maea Rakapurua, deceased. In the Maori Land Court of New Zealand (Waiariki District). —In the matter of section 55 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1947 ; and in the matter of petition No. 19 of 1947, of Nellie Haua, concerning the will of Maea Rakapurua, deceased. At a sitting of the Court held at Tauranga on the 19th day of May, 1948, before John Harvey, Esquire, Judge. Upon hearing the parties interested and the evidence there and then adduced, the Court doth hereby recommend that the Court be empowered to hear an application for probate of the will of the deceased, notwithstanding the provisions of section 175 of the Maori Land Act, 1931.
