Note.—This table includes first, second, and third class Honours, but not equivalent Honours or Pass M.Sc. SUBJECTS TAKEN BY GRADUATES The following table shows at two-yearly intervals the subjects for which the degree of M.Sc. was awarded for the period 1927 to 1947 :

Note. —Figures relate to the year in which the examination was passed. This table shows that on the whole chemistry has been the most favoured subject with physics and mathematics (in that order) retaining fairly steady preference from 1927 onwards. In 1947 the number of M.Sc. graduates showed a sharp increase in all subjects.
