No. 14 —Petition of L. A. Adams, of Auckland Praying that New Zealand will not permit any usurpation of its national sovereignty. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 4th August, 1948.

No. 23—Petition of G. H. R. Fraser, of Khandallah, Wellington Praying for relief in respect of a property transaction. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 11th August, 1948.

No. 62/1947 —Petition of D. E. Bradney, of Auckland Praying for additional compensation in respect of the acquisition of a ship by the Crown. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. 18th August, 1948.

No. 27—Petition of Helensville District Racing Club, Incorporated Praying for the grant to the club of a licence to operate a totalizator at its meetings. v I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and has no recommendation to make. 18th August, 1948.

No. 35 —Petition of H. F. B. Winstone, of Auckland Praying for a reassessment and a refund of succession duty. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 25th August, 1948.
