(b) The following table shows the figures for house construction district by district since the inception of the Division. Land-purchase figures are also shown, which figures include sections on which houses for other Government Departments have been built. It should be noted that the figures for other Government Departments are already included in the total house-construction figures :

(c) Financial.—Expenditure for the year totalled £8,886,322, bringing the total expenditure to date to £55,645,692. In conclusion; I wish to say'that the excellent results achieved over the past year reflect great credit on the staff, who have given of their best, and I desire to place on record my appreciation of their loyal and efficient service. Credit must also be given to the many contractors who have so whole-heartedly co-operated in the carrying-out of the housing programme. R. B.
