APPENDIX 2—THE DEGREE OF BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (8.E.) * (Extracted from the New Zealand University Calendar, 1948, pages 194-202) Note.—Students who propose to take the B.E. degree should include the following subjects in their school courses : English, Mathematics, and Physics or Chemistry or Mechanics : I. Every candidate for the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering must matriculate and thereafter follow the prescribed course of study (keeping terms in accordance with the Statute " Terms and Lectures ") and pass the examinations hereinafter prescribed. 11. Subject to the provisions of the Statute" Conduct of University Examinations," every candidate for an Intermediate Examination shall send in his name to the Registrar, together with the fee, not later than the tenth day of June preceding the examination. 111. Subject to the provisions of the Statute " Conduct of University Examinations," every candidate for a professional examination shall send in his name to the Registrar, together with the fee, not later than the tenth day of May preceding the examination. IV. Subject in each case to the provisions of the Statute " Conduct of University Examinations," the fee for examination shall be that prescribed in the Statute " Fees."

* Note.—Candidates who in 1944 have alieady entered on the course for the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering and who desire to complete under the regulations in force in that year shall be allowed up to and including the examination of 1949 to do so.
