No. 37—Petition of G. P. Tilby Praying for compensation in connection with the destruction of diseased citrus-fruit trees. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that it he referred to the Government for consideration 24th August, 1949. A. C. No. 51—Petition of H. E. Brown Praying for reconsideration of his application for relief under section 17 of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act, 1945. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration' and that the principles and practice of farm accountancy in connection with live-stock values be further investigated in order to establish greater equity in the procedures laid down by the Commissioner of Taxes and that special consideration be given to fixing standard values based on the average market price over a period of years 19th October, 1949.

No. 60 —Petition of W. G. Annear and Others Praying for the release of bran and pollard to "poultry-keepers for use in lieu of the standard mash. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends that until such-time as bran and pollard can be made freely available the petition be referred to the Government for the purpose of investigation into the possibility of producing a better balanced poultry mash to meet the need of the poultrykeepers. Special Report I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Agricultural and Pastoral Committee unanimously passed the following Resolution : ' That this Committee place on record its appreciation of the services rendered to it fey the Chairman, Mr. G. H. 0. Wilson during the 1949 session and of the able and courteous manner in which he has directed the business of the Committee during the hearing of the several major petitions dealt with, and that this Resolution be reported to the House." 50th October, 1949.
