No. 25—Petition of V. R. Rells and Others (Representing the Napier Leaseholders 5 Association) Praying that leaseholders of the Napier Harbour Board be granted the freehold title to the land on which their homes are built, and that, where desired, a time-purchase clause be provided by way of amending legislation. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 15th September, 1949.
Bluff Harbour Board Empowering Bill The Local Bills Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report: — (1) That it is a Local Bill. (2) That the Standing Orders have been complied with, with the exception of Standing Order 366, which in so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which Local Bills may be introduced was not complied with, but was suspended by the House to enable the Bill to be introduced and proceeded with. (3) That the rights and prerogatives of the Crown are not affected. (4) That the Committee recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendment as shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 21st September, 1949.
